- Neither US label covers the span. Antebellum runs to 1861 and is regional to the American South; the Gilded Age runs roughly 1877 to 1900 and is the later half only. Between them they overlap most of the Victorian bracket and match none of it, which is why they are `altLabels` with this caveat rather than a clean crosswalk.
