ADR 0001 section 6 gives SPACE, ELEMENT and TYPOLOGY an other and denies it to STYLE, PERIOD, MOOD, PALETTE and PLACE. The reason is that this is a closed-world axis: rooms are enumerable, so "identified but unlisted" is a real state worth recording. On a fuzzy open-world axis other is a garbage magnet that costs a classifier nothing and silently becomes the largest class. Note the distinction from the dropped unknown: other is ontological and positive, unknown is epistemic and maps to null.
